Fall Recipe and ramblings~

I just got this recipe in my e-mail from "Gooseberry Patch".It sounds sooo good.I made crock pot applesauce and apple butter last year and the kids loved it!
I've never put the pumpkin pie spice in the apple sauce before so that's something new.Sounds yummy!
Spiced Applesauce~
Enjoy this recipe from Autumn with Family & Friends

8 Golden Delicious apples, cored, peeled and cubed
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. water
1 t. pumpkin pie spice

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker; stir to mix. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, or on high setting for 3 to 4 hours. When done, stir with a wooden spoon. Gently crush applesauce against side of slow cooker to desired consistency. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

I absolutely love The Gooseberry Patch cookbooks.I think "Autumn in the Country" is my favorite but I haven't seen this new one yet.

I've been slowly putting all my fall decorations out over the last week or so.I just love the warm colors and how cozy it makes the house feel.I've even seen pumpkins out on porches already!My mother-in-law grew some in her garden this year so I'm hoping to grab some of those soon.
I just can't believe we're half way through September already!I really want to try to slow down and enjoy the season with the kids this year,it seems to go by so quickly and then the rush of the Thanksgiving/Christmas season is upon us.
I've been doing alot of praying lately about helping me to live more in the moment and enjoy the time right here and now.It seems I'm always thinking about the past or worried about what is coming so Yes,I need to work on that!
I found this prayer that I thought was quite appropriate................

Blessing Prayer of Autumn~
Wind of Heaven,

May we listen to your Spirit moving in the air of Autumn:

A season of transition, a season of change;

A season of harvest, a bounty of goodness;

A season of mystery, of dying and letting go;

A season of trust, of new life being promised again.

May we take time to find moments of quiet in our life.

May we be inspired to pay closer attention.

Spirit of the Earth,

May beauty emerge within us.

May the vivid colors of our gifts come into view.

May the branches of our souls reveal our essential core of goodness.

O Great Spirit of Autumn,

Grant us courage to live your wisdom and witness your beauty.

May we fall into the mystery and step forward in trust.

May we discover moments of rest and a harvest of nourishment.

Great Spirit of Autumn,

Wind of Heaven,

Spirit of the Earth,

Thank you for the blessing of this day. Amen.

Hi,
I came to visit from Sue's. I have just had brain surgery and find that I can't drive for up to 6 months. Now I have the time to reflect and be grateful, but even now I find that I am in a hurry. I will make a copy of the prayer and put it on my frig.
I love Gooseberry too.
Your blog is so beautiful and fallish. I'm glad that I came by.
